JKSSB Finance Accounts Assistant (FAA) 30-Day Study Plan

JKSSB Finance Accounts Assistant is harder to plan for than most JKSSB posts because it has seven written sections instead of four: General Knowledge (J&K), General English, Accountancy & Book-Keeping, Statistics, Mathematics, General Economics, and Knowledge of Computers.

Week 1 (Days 1–7): Accountancy foundations

• Day 1: one Easy set in every topic to find your weakest sections
• 3 hrs/day on the book-keeping chain, in order: Basic Accounting Concepts → Journal & Ledger → Trial Balance & Rectification → Bank Reconciliation
• 2 hrs/day: J&K History and Geography
• BRS and journal entries are among the most consistently tested areas

Week 2 (Days 8–14): Government accounting and GK

• Depreciation, Financial Statements, Partnership Accounts
• The government-specific topics commerce graduates skip: Government Accounting & Budgeting, Public Finance, PFMS, Social Accounting & Audit
• 2 hrs/day of J&K GK — Polity (Reorganisation Act), Culture, Current Affairs

Week 3 (Days 15–21): The quantitative sections

• Statistics: central tendency, sampling, tabulation, index numbers, probability
• Mathematics: sets, relations and functions, matrices and determinants, P&C, limits and derivatives, coordinate geometry
• These reward formula practice — do Medium and Hard sets daily
• 2 days on General Economics, 1 day on Knowledge of Computers

Week 4 (Days 22–30): Mocks and mistakes only

• A full-length timed paper every other day (upload previous-year FAA PDFs to MockNPrep to make them timed tests)
• Remember negative marking — an unsure guess can cost you
• In-between days: redo every wrong answer and revise your Statistics and Maths formula sheet
• No new topics in the last week
