JKSSB Exams 2026: Pattern, Syllabus & Free Practice

Exam strategy · 2026-10-18 · 7 min read

JKSSB runs recruitment for many posts, and each written paper has its own size, sections and negative marking. This page puts the six we cover side by side, with links to a free diagnostic test, topic-wise practice and a timed full-length mock for each. Patterns come from our exam guides; always confirm them in the notification for your own advertisement.

How to choose where to start

  • New to JKSSB prep: take the diagnostic test for your post first (20 questions, 15 minutes) and let it point at your weak topics\n- Two weeks in: move to topic-wise Easy, Medium and Hard sets\n- Final month: timed full-length mocks, then retest only your wrong answers\n- Comparing posts: read exam patterns compared

How to read a recruitment notification

  • Post and department: which post and which department is recruiting
  • Number of posts: the total and the split by category
  • Qualification: the education and any certificate needed
  • Age limit: the cut-off date and the maximum age for each category
  • Application dates and fee: when to apply, and how much to pay
  • Selection process: a written test only, or a written test plus a typing or physical test
  • Syllabus: in the notice or published separately
  • Domicile and category certificate: the notices say these must be valid on the last date of application

Where to find official updates

The board publishes its notices, syllabi, admit cards and answer keys on jkssb.nic.in under What's New. After an exam, the board releases a provisional answer key and invites objections within a set period. Check the site every few days during the application and exam period.

Common application mistakes

  • Applying with a certificate that is not valid on the last date
  • Choosing the wrong category or post
  • Uploading a photo or signature in the wrong size
  • Paying the fee and not completing the form
  • Missing the edit window the board gives after applications close

After you apply

Download the admit card as soon as it is available and check the date, time and centre. Read the instructions about the documents to carry. After the exam, compare your answers with the provisional key and raise an objection only if you can support it.

How this page fits with the others

Use the table above to choose a post, open its syllabus guide for the sections and marks, take the diagnostic test to find your weak topics, and then follow the 30-day plan where one is available.
