- There is no negative marking in any of them
- Constable is bilingual, and the Sub-Inspector, Prison and Fire papers are in English
- Physical standard and endurance tests qualify candidates and carry no marks, while NCC and desired-qualification tests give up to 5% incentive marks each
Who can apply
Candidates need a Ladakh domicile certificate. For the Border and Women Battalion posts, candidates may apply only in their home district.
Other Ladakh recruitments
The Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board (LSSSSB) runs the Group B and Group C civil posts such as Junior Assistant. See the LSSSSB guide.
Ladakh general knowledge
Ladakh general knowledge is part of every Ladakh Police paper. Practise it inside the mocks above.
Ladakh general knowledge you should cover
- Status: Ladakh became a Union Territory on 31 October 2019. Leh is the headquarters of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) for Leh, and Kargil has its own LAHDC
- Geography: the Indus flows through Ladakh, and the Zanskar, Suru, Shyok and Nubra are its tributaries. The Karakoram range lies in the north, and the Zanskar range to the south
- Passes and roads: the Srinagar–Leh highway crosses the Zojila Pass, and Khardung La, near Leh, is among the highest motorable passes
- Lakes: Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri are high-altitude saltwater lakes
- Glaciers: Siachen is among the longest glaciers outside the polar regions
- Culture: Buddhism and Islam are the main religions. Hemis Festival honours Guru Padmasambhava, and Losar is the Ladakhi new year
- Languages: Ladakhi and Balti are widely spoken, along with Urdu, Hindi and English
Preparing for the police selection process
Police recruitments usually combine a written test with physical standards and endurance tests. Prepare for both in parallel. Practise the written syllabus on weekdays and train physically on at least four days a week. Check the official notice for the stages that apply to the post you want.
A weekly plan
- Monday to Friday: two hours of the written syllabus and 45 minutes of physical training
- Saturday: a timed mock and a longer run
- Sunday: review the week's mistakes and rest
Documents to keep ready
Keep identity proof, educational certificates, a domicile or residence certificate where the notice requires one, a category certificate if you claim a reservation, and photographs. Check the notice for the exact list and for the validity date of each certificate.
Using the mock tests
The Ladakh Police practice papers on the site follow the pattern we describe in the exam guides. Take the diagnostic test first, work through the topic sets for your weak subjects and then take full papers in the real time limit.
Final checks before you apply
Read the eligibility conditions carefully, especially the age on the cut-off date, the educational qualification and the physical standards for men and women. Apply only through the official portal named in the notice, pay the fee only there, and keep a copy of the submitted form and the payment receipt.
